The teacher was Italian, or Idalian as what he told us, with strong Idalian accent when he spoke. He taught us the film making elective, including how to shoot a short advertisement and how to use programme to edit it. He said “cli-ke” instead of “click” when he explained the techniques of using the programme and made it sound damn funny.
So the first day we were required to sit in our groups so ta1s quickly formed their own gangs and ta2s formed their cliques. Sophia, Faye, Zhihao, Samuel and I were in one group. So we had a professional photographer. But I was not sure if filming was the same as photographing. Sophia came out with a lame advertisement, but I reckon lame was the whole point of the campaign that we were supposed to shoot. It was about tomato sauce, or – ketchup. We used a pun here and decided to shoot something like: Sophia and Faye were racing. Faye was ahead of Sophia at first, but after she ate the tomato ketchup, Sophia caught up with Faye and won the race. It was damn retarded, but we used the idea.
We reviewed each group’s clips the next day and the Italian teacher gave us comments and asked if we have any ques-ti-ens. We started shooting a new advertisement the following day and all the teachers were impressed with our clips. To film the clips, we had to consider which posture was more emo, we had to go to the HDB opposite, and Sophia had to think how to make it realistic when she cried, and I just couldn’t help laughing. So if you happen to see our clips, you will see Sophia was pretending crying and I was chuckling. Zhihao stood behind me and pushed me from behind to remind me I was acting, and Samuel stood solemnly beside Sophia – Faye was the one who filmed.
Got Workshop in Wednesday afternoon. We sat around tables with hands supporting our heads. We had that kind of sian-look on our faces. The lesson was monotonous, but when the teacher asked us to exchange the notes that were crunched in balls, we caught this opportunity to throw the ball all around and managed to get some joy. Chang Long was very high that afternoon and managed to make Qi Long laugh. xP
There was a PE lesson on Friday. We played basketball during the first period. There were eight people I suppose and we screened energetically when our opponents were about to attack. That’s called screening effect, but the difference was that it had nothing to do with chem. I forgot to store some energy for the second period, which was PE. But I somehow ran four laps with the usual pace. I hurried for elective after that. We took most of the time practice editing on our raw clips and slacked afterwards.
Some people went thaipan to eat. Lance was amused when he heard about it. Unfortunately I had bought my lunch before I knew there was someone wanted to eat at thaipan and didn’t go along. Next time lah. And I’ll try to post again after Sports Carnival next week. Cheerio.
